In this post, we’re pulling back the curtain to introduce some of our engineering teams to share a glimpse into life at Appinio, including photos from team gatherings, off-sites, and past events. From DevOps to mobile app squads, these teams are working on some seriously exciting projects to ensure that Appinio continues to empower businesses worldwide with real-time customer insights—all wrapped up in a user-friendly interface.

Insights Platform Team
The Insights Platform Team is in charge of maintaining both our Admin and B2B Angular apps. The team ensures that clients can create, launch, and manage surveys without any hiccups. This team's energy is all about positivity, innovation, and sharing the love of knowledge. You will often find them challenging each other to stay on top of their game.
Cool projects they’re cooking up:
- Plotting the latest Angular upgrade
- Rolling out a new architecture plan and growing our design system
- Restructuring the team into agile squads to keep things fresh
- Hosting more Tech Talks to spread the knowledge love internally

Mobile Team
The Mobile Team splits into two squads: Panellist Experience and Community. The Panellist Experience squad ensures that our survey packages are rock solid across mobile and web apps, while the Community squad keeps users engaged with top-tier experiences. And let’s just say—they’re thinking BIG.
Fun things the team are working on:
- Crafting a conversational flow so that surveys feel more like texting a friend.
- Adding dynamic animations and interactive elements to make surveys more engaging.
- Releasing our app in new countries almost every month!
We’re building the ticking heart of Appinio’s business experience — the core library that empowers every product to connect with users in a seamless, impactful way, and we’re having a lot of fun doing it.

Backend Team
Appinio’s Backend Team is the powerhouse behind the scenes, ensuring our systems are both smooth and efficient. From maintaining databases to developing APIs, they’re the ones who keep everything running like clockwork. They do regular knowledge sharing sessions and pair programming, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
What they’re currently working on:
- Developing and maintaining APIs to fuel our front-end features
- Ensuring our database remains robust and efficient
- Collaborating with other engineering teams to drive innovation and enhance functionality

DevOps Team
The DevOps Team—the unsung heroes who keep Appinio’s infrastructure running like a well-oiled machine. Our DevOps team manages front-end and back-end systems, including monitoring, databases, and other essential infrastructure. They’re also the experts behind our CI/CD pipeline, ensuring deployments run smoothly and efficiently.
What they’re up to right now:
- Leading a major migration from a single AWS account to a multi-account setup
- Leveraging Infrastructure as Code to make everything more efficient
SpecialOps Team
SpecialOps Team are delivering fast prototypes needed internally to help our employees day-to-day and building use cases for our customers leveraging AI technology. The team syncs up daily in stand-ups, and support is also always available in case anyone is stuck. The DevOps & SpecialOps team also tries to meet up once or twice per year in person to strengthen their team bond.
What they are working on — SpecialOps:
- Building AI-driven tools to boost productivity across Appinio's teams
- Revolutionising market research with synthetic data
- Conducting our first experiment with a Target Group Chatbot for qualitative feedback
We tackle new and diverse challenges every day, utilising the latest tools, tech, and AI frameworks.

QA Team
The QA Team at Appinio may be small, but they play a big role in upholding product quality and reliability. Involved from the requirements stage onward, they handle test planning, pair programming, code reviews, monitoring, and exploratory testing. Every feature, update, and release is carefully reviewed to ensure it meets Appinio’s standards before reaching users. Positioned at the core of the engineering process, they collaborate across departments, championing quality to keep our ecosystem running smoothly.
Some exciting things QA are working on:
- Automated Testing Expansion — increasing automated testing to reduce repetitive manual tests and more time to focus on more complex scenarios & exploratory testing
- Emphasising UX testing to ensure intuitive, smooth user experience that goes beyond basic functionality
- We are adopting new testing tools to streamline and improve testing and release processes, boosting workflow efficiency
We make sure that our products are intuitive, functional, and reliable, with user satisfaction at the forefront of every decision. By embracing a detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive approach.

Business Intelligence Team
The BI Team is all about turning raw data into actionable insights. They ensure that decision-makers at Appinio have everything they need to make informed choices—fast. Their mantra? “Simple is better.” Less micromanagement, more productivity. They are also sure to check in on each other daily, making sure everyone feels supported in our remote first environment.
What they’re currently working on:
- Focusing on data prep, transformation, and standardisation
- Hosting monthly “BI Internal Days” to tackle tasks as a team and have fun doing it
- Developing standardised reports using Tableau for a consistent reporting experience
